Onychoschizia (Lamellar Dystrophy)

Onychoschizia is the transverse splitting of the nail into layers, typically occurring at or near the free edge. This condition can be caused by various factors, including polycythemia, HIV infection, and glucagonoma. The splitting of the nail layers can result in weakened nails and a compromised appearance, necessitating identification of the underlying cause for appropriate treatment and management.
